VV Puram Food Street ,Bangalore

A stroll in the VV puram food street of Bangalore gives me a warm feeling of being in the “Encyclopedia of Indian Chaat” .Food fanatics have whole range of delectable food to explore – crisp dosas, buttery-soft idlis, stuffed paranthas, Punjabi chaat, Maharashtrian vada pav, Mumbai-style pav bhaji, hot Obbattu and Gulkand ice-cream.

Kata Kirr -Known for spicy Misal Pav in Pune's Deccan Gymkhana

The dish is only for those who can handle the heat!! It is a popular Maharashtrian savory best enjoyed with chilled butter milk. Misal is spicy sprout curry topped with chiwda ,farsan accompanied with onions and lemon. It is usually served with buttered pav. The watery red gravy called “Rassa” is provided along to make the Misal extra spicy!

Jhal Muri and Ghugni  -from the City of Joy

My last trip to Kolkata wasn’t complete without visiting New market. The place is a boon for shopaholics with over more than 2000 stores under one Roof. I did not miss to savour Ghugni -the Bengali version of Ragada Chaat and Jhal Muri the munch snack that comes in a cone shaped newspaper wrap

I had the privilege to relish Jammu street fare while doing on-foot journey from Katra to holy shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi . Kaladi Kulcha is undoubtedly the most tasty and legendary food of Jammu.Kalari is the authentic Dogra cheese stuffed between the bread. It tastes best when had with kahwa, aromatic clear tea with bits of dry fruits and saffron.

Sarafa Bazaar -Food Paradise of Indore

Sarafa Bazaar is traditionally jewelry market located in the centre of the city in Indore. The place comes alive in the night with street food vendors offering different delectables to suit your taste buds.Few popular foods that are sure to make you drool are Poha-Jalebi,Malpua,Butte ki kees,Dal Bafla,Ratalu and Kulfi.
